All the fun of the farm for Reception children
Published on 02/07/19
Children from Cobholm Primary Academy came home with a rich harvest of knowledge after a day spent on a working farm.
The Reception pupils visited Hundred River Farm, near Beccles in Suffolk, for a day of hands-on learning and fun on Thursday, June 27.
They were given a tour of the family-run farm and learned how food chains work and how the farmland supports local wildlife such as insects and birds.
The children also enjoyed feeding and cuddling the farm’s goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and guinea pigs, and met a tame barn owl.
The trip was organised and supported by the Countryside Trust, a charity which helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds learn about farming and the countryside.
