Footballers from the Hewett Academy have won the Cowles Cup with a stunning 7-0 victory.
The Under 19 trophy was taken by the team after they took down King Edward VII Academy, King's Lynn, in the final on Tuesday, March 29.
The victory tops a strong series of wins throughout the Norfolk Football Association competition, in a campaign starting in November and featuring 12 top teams from around the county.
The Hewett Academy team got off to a strong start with a 12-0 drubbing of Diss High School in the first round, before a tougher match against Wymondham College in the quarter finals that ended with a 3-2 scoreline.
In the semi-finals they took on Open Academy and won through to the finals with 2-0 at the final whistle.
The victory marks a fantastic start to the academy's BTEC Sport & Exercise Science course, which mixes direct sporting experience with exploring the scientific aspects of high-level success.
Principal Tom Leverage said: "We launched our new BTEC in September and that led to the formation of the team. It is brilliant that they have already been able to put together their sporting ability and academic aspects of the course in such a practical way.
"We are very proud of the team's achievements, and it is a fantastic way to mark the end of the spring term."
